Nike’s Huarache Edge is a stripped-down, streamlined take on one of the Swoosh Brand’s most famous running silhouettes of all time: the Tinker Hatfield-designed Nike Huarache. While some of the Edge’s details — namely the neoprene sockliner and circular tongue badge — harken back to the 1991 classic, the rest of the shoe is vastly different, featuring a new lacing system, abstract-shaped leather panels, and a large plastic heel piece. However, a true modified classic never forgets its roots — so the Huarache Edge has received a handful of OG-style colorways, the lastest of which to surface is this classic combo of purple, yellow, and white. Purple is applied liberally across the entire neoprene sockliner, while yellow is called upon more conservatively, used to provide accents on the collar, heel, and midfoot. A white mesh toebox and black heel detailing then complete the look. This new-age take on an icon will release in China January 1st and then roll out to US retailers and Nike.com in the forthcoming weeks, so check out a full set of official images below while you wait for the drop.
